The most powerful earthquake to hit China in 30 years has killed at least 10,000 people in south-western Sichuan province, with thousands more trapped.

As shocking as the tales of destruction, are the tales of human triumph, as told by the more recent additions to the database.
“People who would have not worked together before, are standing together, side by side, to give support in whatever form they can,” said Tommy Waldeisen, founder of the photo database project.
